It will take at least 2-3 hours to completely explore the museum (varies from person to person based on interest).Ī visit after sunset is also wonderful as the palace gets lit up in tricolors and there is a small fountain at its front, also lit up. It has got two floors displaying the rich history, art, culture, flaura and fauna of Tripura along with 6 other sisters of North Eastern states in the form of paitings, stone and wodden sculpture, replicas, coins etc. It used to host the Vidhan Sabha (state assembly) but later was converted to a museum, some 10 years back. The Palace is definitely a treat for the eyes of visitors. Interiors of the Palace is beautiful with amazing tiles and ceiling. The palace also has a mughal style garden at the front and 2 big lakes, 1 on each side. Spread across a huge area, the palace is an example of neo-classical architecture which is a blend of Greek and Roman style architecture. Located in the heart of the city, Ujjayanta Palace is a magnificent monument, the people of Tripura can feel proud of.
